The Clothespin Kachinas are Back!

Writer's picture: Heather BellHeather Bell

Did you know that clothespins become the perfect starting point for creating your own examples of the Hopi Kachina dolls? They are part of the rich cultural heritage of the Hopi and Zuni tribes of New Mexico. If you have the patience for this kind of detail work, they make colorful decorations and provide reminders of the spiritual element of the natural world.

We are happy to announce that our Kachina Dolls with Clothespins book is available once again! If you purchase it from our site, we'll include some updated information since the first printing.

Pictured above are Snow Kachina, Cold Bringing Woman & Snow Kachina, Eagle, Badger, Crow Mother, Crow, and Silent Warrior. There are 29 complete designs in the book along with 3 simpler designs geared for children.
